Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, from Pococí and Guácimo to Siquirres, Matina, Limón and Talamanca, has its own media telling its day-to-day story. This guide presents the ones we verified in the directory of Limón media, with what each says about itself on its official site.
Digital media
Caribe Actual
Caribe Actual publishes “news from Costa Rica’s Caribbean” and organizes its coverage by canton: Limón, Pococí, Siquirres, Guácimo, Matina and Talamanca. It updates daily with crime, public services and municipal news, follows the condition of Route 32, and has a business directory for the area.
Limón Hoy
Limón Hoy uses the slogan “Limón’s news just one click away”. It publishes provincial and national news, sports, and sections dedicated to the cantons of Limón and Matina.
Television
CTV Limón defines itself as “the digital channel that beats to the rhythm of the Caribbean 24 hours a day, 7 days a week”, with the aim of entertaining, informing and bringing the community together through programming with its own identity. It also publishes regional news on its site.
Radio
- Radio Bahía: on 107.9 FM, with more than four decades on the air according to its site. It has two signals with different programming: Radio Bahía Limón and Radio Bahía Puntarenas.
- Milimon Radio: a digital station born in Limón to take the Caribbean’s music, culture and talent to the world, with an emphasis on local talent.

For businesses and organizations
If your news or your business is on the Caribbean coast, these outlets reach your audience directly. Before writing to them, read how to send a press release in Costa Rica, and if you plan to advertise, see how much advertising costs. Regional outlets don’t always publish their rates: ask them directly. All of them publish in Spanish.
Is a Limón outlet missing? Write to hola@costaricamedios.cr with its official site; we add it after checking that it is active. See also the guides to Cartago and Heredia.
